Location

The 24th Conference on Applied Statistics in Ireland, CASI 2004, will be held in the Galway Bay Golf & Country Club Hotel, Oranmore, Galway.  The village of Oranmore is situated 10 Km from Galway, and the Galway Bay Golf and Country Club is on the shores of Galway Bay, about 3 km from the village. The hotel is adjacent to Galway Bay Sailing Club and situated amongst miles of forest walks.  There are signs for the hotel before Oranmore on both the N6 and N18 approaches. Alternatively take the exit for Oranmore at the N6 and N18 roundabout. Turn left at the village junction. Take the right fork in the road after the church and follow the signs for the hotel.

Travelling from Dublin to Galway by Public Transport

By Train
Trains run daily between Dublin (Hueston Station) and Galway. The journey takes approximately 2 and a half hours and there are 6 trains per day. See

By Bus
There are several daily services between Dublin and Galway. There is approximately one bus every hour, and the journey takes approximately 4 hours. See

By Air

There are 5 flights a day from Dublin Airport to Galway Airport (run by
Aer Arran ).  Flight time is 40 minutes.  The airport is approximately 10km from the conference venue.

 
Travelling from Galway to the Hotel

The hotel is approximately 15 miles from the city centre.  A taxi should cost approximately €25. The hotel has an arrangement with Ocean Cabs in Oranmore (091-790790) and they will collect passengers at the bus/train station and Airport if prebooked.
