We start section 2: Applications of Multiple Integrals. Historically this was developed to help understand problems in what is now called physics and many of the motivating problems come from physics. No background is assumed but science students should have some advantages here. We introduce the centre of mass of a lamina. The techniques assume mastery of the first section of the course.
