• The end of semester exam is worth 60% of the total assessment. It will consist of three questions corresponding to the above three topics. A model exam paper is available here.
• The Continuous assessment is worth 30% of the total assessment. It will consist of three in-class tests. Questions in the tests will be taken verbatim from the problem sheet.
• An essay on one of the following topics is worth 10% of the total assessment.
  • The importance of Mathematics for Commerce and Finance
  • Mathematics and Art
  • Employment of Mathematicians
  The essay should be four pages (max), typed and submitted by the last lecture of the semester.
