Entry Requirements

Specific Course Requirements: Mathematics - minimum HC3 or OA2.
Standard University requirements: Minimum Grade HC3 in two subjects and passes in four other subjects at H or O Level in the Leaving Certificate including: Irish, English, another language and three other subjects recognised for entry purposes.

Exemptions

Because of the strict requirements for accreditation by the Teaching Council, students with a degree in mathematics (for instance) are not normally granted exemptions in this course. In such cases where a graduate of a mathematical discipline would like to study to become a qualified teacher, the student should apply through the Postgraduate Diploma in Education.
