Irish Applied Mathematics Research Students' Meeting

organised by the NUI Galway SIAM Student Chapter

11th of December 2014

Library Seminar Room, Hardiman Building

This one day conference is organised by the newly formed SIAM student chapter in Galway and is the first of its kind in the Republic of Ireland. It is supported by SIAM, the Stokes Cluster of the School of Mathematics, Statistics and Applied Mathematics at NUI Galway and the Complex Systems Research Centre.

About the conference

The aim of the conference is to bring together research students from different universities, giving them the chance to broaden their horizons and see what other students in their research area are working on. The event will be an opportunity for participants to present their work and gain experience giving a talk in a formal setting.

The day consists of two plenary sessions, student talks, and poster presentations. All students who are working in an area related to applied and computational mathematics are encouraged to attend and to consider presenting their work in the form of a 20 minute talk (15' talk and 5' Q&As) or poster. The conference, including coffee and lunch, is free.
