Penrose tiles can be used to cover a 2-dimensional surface in a non-periodic way. However there are certain rules to be obeyed while carrying out the tiling in order not to leave any gaps or "holes". The project will investigate the two common tilings, i.e. (1) using "dart" and "kite" shapes, or (2) using two rhombus shapes of different dimensions. The code can be written in any web-based language: The project should suit someone with an interest in graphics or web-based art.
This project will be carried out under linux and so requires some knowledge of/interest in linux/unix.
