Mathematics at National University of Ireland, Galway

Entry Requirements

Those contemplating studying Mathematics at University are required to have passed (grade D or better) the subject Mathematics at Leaving Certificate. This is the minimum qualification required but obviously something better than the minimum would be most desirable. (There are separate mathematics entry requirements for the Engineering faculty and intending students should make themselves aware of these.)

Those contemplating doing honours courses are required to have obtained a grade C3 or better in honours Leaving Certificate Mathematics or a grade of A2 or better in pass Leaving Certificate Mathematics.

The denominated degree programme in Mathematical Science/Computing is an honours course and the number of places available is limited. Those entering this denominated degree must have either a grade C3 (or better) in honours Leaving Certificate Mathematics or a grade of A2 or better in pass Leaving Certificate Mathematics.

The denominated degree programme in Financial Mathematics is an honours course and the number of places available is limited. Those entering this denominated degree must have either a grade C3 (or better) in honours Leaving Certificate Mathematics or a grade of A2 or better in pass Leaving Certificate Mathematics.
