Five prestigious IRC PhD scholarships awarded the School of Mathematics, Statistics and Applied Mathematics!

Five prestigious Irish Research Council (IRC) PhD scholarships were awarded this year to new and existing post-graduate scholars in the School of Mathematics, Statistics and Applied Mathematics. The students will conduct research in the areas of Algebra, Applied Mathematics, Bioinformatics, and Statistics.

The IRC award provides for tuition fees, research expenses, and a maintenance stipend of €16,000 per annum.

The programme is highly competitive programme, so securing five of these valuable awards represents a great success. Our thanks for the hard work involved to all students and supervisors who submitted IRC applications.

Prospective PhD students who may be interested in applying in the next IRC round are invited to identify a suitable potential supervisor and get in touch. It is anticipated the programme will open for applications in November 2013, with a deadline of January 2014.
