The study of relative topological properties has received much attention in recent times due in large part to the efforts of A.V. Arhangel'skii and the Russian school. We answer a problem posed by Arhangel'skii concerning relative normality within the Sorgenfrei plane X: if Y is a countable dense subset of X, is X normal on Y?
